Ateez's Hongjoong, actor Ahn Hyo-seop join celebrity donors on Children's Day

Stars like K-pop boy band Ateez's Hongjoong and actor Ahn Hyo-seop joined the string of celebrity Children's Day donations over the weekend.

This year's Children's Day in Korea fell on Sunday, with celebrations continuing through Monday, marked as a public holiday.

Hongjoong gave 50 million won ($36,789) to local young carers through World Vision Korea, according to KQ Entertainment on Sunday. His band is slated to release its 10th EP, “Golden Hour: Part. 1," on May 31.

Actor Ahn also gave 50 million won to children worldwide suffering from natural and human-made disasters through Unicef on Friday, said his agency The Present Company. Ahn is best known for starring in SBS's "Dr. Romantic" series (2020, 2023).

Actor Go Min-si, best known for her role in Netflix's apocalyptic drama "Sweet Home" series (2020, 2023), donated 50 million to marginalized minors admitted at Asan Medical Center in Songpa District, southern Seoul. Her agency Mystic Story on Sunday said her donations will fund their treatments, including surgeries.

Rapper and songwriter BE'O donated 10 million won to a disabled infant center called Yeoju's House of Angels in Gyeonggi, according to BPM Entertainment on Monday. The artist last month released his second EP "Affection."

Comedian Hong Hyun-hee revealed on her social media on Sunday that she donated 20 million won to ChildFund Korea under her son's name. She married interior designer and TV personality Jasson in 2018, and the two had their son in 2022.
