A slew of local celebrities, including actors Park Bo-young and Kim Go-eun, are celebrating this year's Children's Day with donations.

Park donated 50 million won ($37,000) to the nonprofit GFoundation, according to BH Entertainment Friday. The donation will provide underwear for children and adolescents in Korea, and will also go to supporting cultural activities for children in child care facilities, the agency said.

This isn’t the first time Park made donations for children. Earlier this year, she gave 20 million won to the Seoul Metropolitan Children’s Hospital.

Kim also donated 50 million won to the Seoul Metropolitan Children’s Hospital, according to BH Entertainment Friday.

Kim has been donating to the hospital since 2021, the agency said, and the money has been used to treat children who have financial difficulties with treating chronic or severe diseases.

"I heard that [the donation] was used to treat children in need of a helping hand, and it touched my heart,” said Kim. “I will work hard to become an actor who can repay all the love I received from many people."

Several other public figures have also donated in honor of Children's Day. Comedian Park Na-rae reportedly donated 10 million won to Sinchon Severance Children's Hospital on Thursday. Baseball player Lee Jung-hoo donated 10 million won to Shinaewon, a child care center in Gwangju, South Jeolla. Singer Lim Young-woong donated 2 million won to children with leukemia.

Actors Han Ji-min and Chun Woo-hee raised money to aid malnourished children. Actor Kim Sun-ho’s fan club donated approximately 4 million won to children with cancer.
