Boy band Ateez will headline the main stage of the Moroccan International music festival Mawazine next month, according to KQ Entertainment on Tuesday.

The seven-day festival will kick off on June 21 at Morocco's capital, Rabat. This year marks the 19th edition of the festival. Some 2.5 million people are said to attend the event annually.

Ateez's appearance is scheduled for June 23. It will be the first time that a K-pop act headlines a stage at Mawazine.

Stars who previously headlined Mawazine include Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Shakira.

Ateez made its Coachella debut last month in Las Vegas and is set to perform at Summer Sonic 2024 Tokyo in August.

The band also has an upcoming release. Its 10th EP, “Golden Hour: Part. 1” is slated to drop on May 31 as it continues its world tour “Towards the Light: Will to Power” which began earlier this year. The North American leg of the concerts is set to begin in July.

It will also hold fan meets, dubbed "Atiny's Voyage: From A to Z," in southern Seoul's Jamsil Arena on July 6 and 7; Tokyo's Garden Theater on Aug. 21 and 22; and Osaka's Grand Cube on Aug. 27 and 28.
