K-pop acts win big at 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Members of boy band BTS and the band's fan club ARMY winning big at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards [2024 IHEARTRADIO MUSIC AWARDS]


K-pop took over the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards, with Stray Kids, NewJeans, Fifty Fifty, three members of BTS and the band's fan club taking home major wins from Monday's event.

This year's iHeartRadio Music Awards took place in Los Angeles on Monday night attended by pop stars SZA, Katy Perry, Ludacris, Avril Lavigne, Meghan Trainor, T Pain and more.

The iHeartRadio awards established four separate categories for K-pop: artist, song and album of the year and Best New K-pop Artist.

K-pop Artist of the Year went to Jungkook of boy band BTS, who also won the Best Music Video award for his 2023 dance track "Seven" featuring Latto. He was also nominated for the K-pop Song of the Year and Favorite Debut Album categories, with his track "3D" (2023) receiving a nomination for Best Music Video.

Fellow BTS member J-Hope won the Favorite On Screen award for his documentary film "J-Hope in the Box" (2023), while V took home the Favorite Debut Album award for his solo EP "Layover" (2023).

BTS's fan club, Army, won the Best Fan Army award. This is the seventh consecutive win for the BTS fan club.

K-pop song of the year was given to girl group Fifty Fifty's TikTok hit "Cupid" (2023), which was also nominated for the TikTok Bop of the Year but did not win.

The winner of the K-pop Album of the Year was Stray Kids' "5-Star" (2023) album. The band was also nominated for the K-pop Artist of the Year, and its song "S-Class" (2023) was nominated for K-pop Song of the Year.

Best New K-pop Artist went to girl group NewJeans, beating competition from four boy bands: BoyNextDoor, Riize, xikers and ZeroBaseOne.

Girl group (G)I-DLE was nominated in the Duo/Group of the Year and K-pop Artist of the Year sections but did not win.
