IU's 'Love wins all' continues to climb [GLOBAL K-POP CHART]

Singer-songwriter IU [EDAM ENTERTAINMENT]

IU’s “Love wins all” became the first 2024 song to land on top of Circle Chart’s Global K-pop chart.

The artist's latest song took the No. 1 slot for the last week of January (Jan. 28 – Feb. 3), landing two steps higher than it did on the previous week's chart.

“Love wins all” is the prerelease track for IU's upcoming sixth EP, “The Winning,” which is set for release on Feb. 20.

“The Winning” will be the singer-songwriter’s first EP release in more than two years, following her special EP “Pieces,” which came out in late 2021.

The EP is set to feature five tracks all written by IU: “Shopper,” “Shh,” “Love wins all,” “I Stan U” and “Holssi,” which means spore in Korean.

Another prerelease track from last month that landed high on the chart was (G)I-DLE’s “Wife,” which took No. 3.

“Wife” was released on Jan. 22 as a prerelease single for the group’s second full-length album “2.”

“Super Lady,” the lead track of “2,” also joined the chart in fifth place.

“2,” released on Jan. 29, is (G)I-DLE’s new eight-track full-length album. It is the group’s first album in seven months since its sixth EP, “I feel,” and the first full-length album release since “I Never Die” dropped in March 2022.

All five members — Soyeon, Miyeon, Minnie, Shuhua and Yuqi — took part in either composing songs or writing lyrics for the album.

Jung Kook’s “Standing Next to You” (2023) and LE SSERAFIM’s “Perfect Night” (2023) — the two tracks that kept their top position on the chart for the last few months — landed at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively.

aespa’s “Drama” (2023) came below “Super Lady” at sixth place, followed by “Seven (feat. Latto) – Explicit Ver.” (2023) at No. 7, “3D (feat. Jack Harlow)” (2023) at No. 8, NewJeans’ “Super Shy” (2023) at No. 9 and the clean version of “Seven” at No. 10.
