ILLIT, V releases soar in blockbuster week for HYBE [GLOBAL K-POP CHART]

HYBE's latest girl group ILLIT [BELIFT LAB]

HYBE reigned strong on Circle Chart’s Global K-pop chart.

The company's latest girl group, ILLIT, topped the chart for the last week of March (March 24 - 30) with its debut lead track, “Magnetic,” followed by BTS’s V, BTS's Jung Kook, LE SSERAFIM and rookie boy band, TWS.

Only two artists that appeared on the Top 10 list were not from HYBE: girl group (G)I-DLE from Cube Entertainment landed No. 2 with “Fate” and singer BIBI, currently under FEELGHOOD music, came in seventh with “Bam Yang Gang.”

ILLIT’s “Magnetic” shot straight to the top of the chart after its release on March 25. Despite receiving criticism from K-pop fans for its similarity to fellow HYBE group NewJeans, ILLIT has seen positive results from both its album sales and streaming numbers. The EP “Super Real Me” sold 380,000 units in its first week of release, becoming the most-sold debut from a K-pop girl group in that time period. “Magnetic” also landed No. 1 on Melon, Genie, Bugs and Flo’s real time charts.

“Fate,” the B-side track from (G)I-DLE second full-length album, “2,” landed in second, two places higher than it did the previous week. The song saw high popularity almost two months after the release of “2” on Jan. 29, prompting (G)I-DLE to reappear on weekly music shows to perform it. It achieved better results than the album's lead track, “Super Lady,” topping Melon's Top 100 and Hot 100 alongside Genie, Flo and Bugs charts, earning (G)I-DLE a “perfect-all-kill” title

Third place in the Global K-pop chart went to V’s latest single, “FRI(END)S,” which topped the chart on the previous week. The digital single, which was released on March 15, is V’s first music released after “Layover,” his solo debut EP. The song was also released during the singer's mandatory military service, which he will complete in June 2025.

LE SSERAFIM’s “EASY” and “Smart” — the lead and B-side tracks from LE SSERAFIM’s third EP, “EASY” — took fourth and fifth place on the chart, respectively. The group's “Perfect Night” (2023), its English digital single from October, landed No. 9.

“Standing Next to You” (2023) by Jung Kook placed sixth, followed by BIBI’s “Bam Yang Gang” in seventh, TWS’s “plot twist” in eighth and Jung Kook’s explicit version of “Seven” in tenth.

NCT DREAM’s latest lead track, “Smoothie,” which was released on March 25, landed at 11th.
