EPEX and Fantastics' 'Peppermint Yum' EP claims Billboard Japan top spot

Boy band EPEX [C9 ENTERTAINMENT]

Boy band EPEX's EP "Peppermint Yum," made in collaboration with Japanese band Fantastics from Exile Tribe, has claimed the top spot on Billboard Japan's Hot Albums chart. This achievement marks a second major milestone after the EP secured the No. 1 position on the daily Oricon Albums Chart.

"Peppermint Yum" sat at No. 1 on Billboard Japan's weekly Hot Albums rankings for the week of March 18 to 24, as published on Wednesday.

The EP initially topped Oricon's daily albums popularity chart, which is based on physical album sales, on March 19. More than 50,000 physical copies of the EP were sold during the limited presales in Japan on Tuesday, the day before its official release.

"Peppermint Yum" is a collaborative project between EPEX, chosen as ambassadors for the 2023-24 season of Japan's professional dance league D.League, and Fantastics from Exile Tribe. Released on March 20, the EP features the title track, which was first revealed as a digital single in December last year, serving as the official theme song for D.League's 2023-24 season.

EPEX will conclude its Asia tour with a concert in Taiwan on Saturday before preparing for its comeback. The band is set to release its first full-length album, "Youth Chapter 1: Youth Days," at 6 p.m. on April 9.
