Cha Eun-woo's 'Entity' drops Thursday with lead track 'Stay'

Cha Eun-woo will start his solo artist career with EP ″Entity.″ [FANTAGIO]

Actor-singer Cha Eun-woo of boy band Astro will start his career as a solo music artist with his first EP “Entity” on Thursday.

"Entity" is Cha's first solo album. The EP contains six tracks, with lead track "Stay."

The album is meant to convey Cha’s raw emotions as Lee Dong-min — his real name — underneath the professional mask of Cha Eun-woo, according to the artist’s agency Fantagio.

Cha participated in writing lyrics for all six tracks on the EP. He plans to convey his determination to “live honestly while accepting all of [him]self” through the album, his agency said.

The concept for the album contains the motif of a “home” that contains the title “entity.”

The EP’s lead track “Stay” is a country pop song whose lyrics offer comfort to those who have parted with their loved ones, Fantagio added. Other tracks include “Where am I,” about the hollowness Cha feels behind a glamorous front, the rebellious “Fu*king great time” and the uplifting “You’re the Best.”

Cha debuted in 2014 as an actor with a minor role in the film “My Brilliant Life” and subsequently as a member of boy band Astro in 2016.

He has since starred in multiple Korean drama series including “Gangnam Beauty” (2018), “True Beauty” (2020-2021), “Island” (2022) and, most recently, “A Good Day to be a Dog,” which ended in January. The MBC series “Wonderful World,” in which he plays the male lead, will premiere on March 1.

Cha will kick off his fan concert tour “2024 Just One 10 Minute [Mystery Elevator]” at the Jamsil Arena on Saturday.
