Japanese musician Yoshiki of rock band X Japan posted a photo of him and G-Dragon together at his studio in Los Angeles on Instagram on Saturday, with the caption “recording in my studio.”

G-Dragon commented on Yoshiki’s post with an emoji of a keyboard, an O.K. sign and a black heart.

The post garnered speculation online on G-dragon’s return to the music scene through a possible collaboration with the Japanese singer.

“G-Dragon is preparing for a comeback, but we cannot give any details regarding his plan,” his agency Galaxy Corporation told the Korea JoongAng Daily on Monday.

G-Dragon, whose given name is Kwon Ji-yong, debuted as a member of boy band Big Bang in 2006 under YG Entertainment. The band saw sensational success throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s. His exclusive contract with YG Entertainment ended last June, and he recently signed an exclusive contract with his new agency Galaxy Corporation, which is a Korean metaverse developer.

The singer also announced that he will establish an anti-drug foundation in 2024, after he was suspected of illegal drug use in October of last year, but has since been cleared of the charges.
