Seventeen’s EP 'Seventeenth Heaven' tops Japanese albums chart for third time

Boy band Seventeen [PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT]

Boy band Seventeen’s 11th EP “Seventeenth Heaven” has topped Japan’s Oricon Albums Chart for the third time.

The EP topped the weekly cumulative album ranking chart for the week of March 4 to 10, according to Oricon’s list published on Tuesday.

It had topped Oricon's albums ranking chart for the week of Oct. 23 to 29 last year when it first dropped and once again for Feb. 5 to 11.

This makes Seventeen’s EP the first to have topped the chart three times, among both Japanese and foreign artists, in two years and eight months since BTS’s “The Best” (2021) achieved the feat in 2021.

“Seventeenth Heaven” dropped in October 2023 with the title track “God of Music.” It broke the all-time K-pop album sales record when it was first released, selling 5.09 million copies within a week of its release. It was also certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) for selling over 750,000 copies.

Seventeen will soon start its encore concert tour “Seventeen Tour ‘Follow’ Again,” an extension of the band’s recent world tour “Follow,” which ended on Jan. 21.

The tour will begin at the Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on March 30 and 31. The following concerts will take place in Japan at the Yanmar Stadium Nagai in Osaka on May 18 and 19, then at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama on May 25 and 26.
