Girl group Le Sserafim [SOURCE MUSIC]

Girl group Le Sserafim’s recent release of its third EP “Easy” and its trap genre title track has quickly climbed the music charts in Japan and the United States.

The EP first reached No. 1 on Japanese record industry tracker Oricon’s daily album rankings on Tuesday, a day after it was released.

A total of 72,356 copies were sold on Monday, according to the group’s agency Source Music, a nearly 25 percent increase in copies sold compared to the number of sales for the group’s first full-length album “Unforgiven” (2023) on its release date.

In the United States, the EP’s title track,“Easy,” was played 535,924 times by U.S. Spotify users on Tuesday, around a 40 percent increase compared to the highest daily streaming record set by the group’s English digital single “Perfect Night” (2023).

In Korea, 783,358 physical copies of the EP were sold on Monday, according to record tracker Hanteo Chart. Though it topped the daily rankings for most physical albums sold, the number of sales was around 23 percent less than that of “Unforgiven” on its release date.

Le Sserafim debuted in 2022 with the album “Fearless” under Source Music, a subsidiary of HYBE. The group consists of five members: Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, Hong Eun-chae. The group has since released songs such as “Fearless” (2022) and “Antifragile” (2022).

The group is set to perform at the American music festival Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 13 and April 20.
